Thai Yoga Massage

What is it?

Thai Yoga Massage (TYM) is an ancient healing art that originated in the 3rd century B.C. in northern India (not Thailand). It is based on the theory that an energy line system runs through the body. When there is a blockage, it leads to aches, pains, and disease; by working on the energy lines, it brings the body back into balance.

What are the benefits of TYM?

A typical session lasts for about 2 hours. It includes some yoga-like stretches and works on the therapeutic pressure points. It helps to improve body alignment and posture, enhances flexibility and leaves the recipient feeling relaxed and energised.

What happens during the session?

If you are new to Thai Yoga Massage, please note the following before booking an appointment:

  • There will be no oil used.

  • You will be lying on a futon on the floor, instead of on a massage table.

  • As you will be changing positions regularly, please wear or bring stretchy and loose clothing, such as yoga pants or a jumpsuit. There is no need to undress.

  • Please allow 2 hours for the entire appointment.
